"The Good Wood Keyboard"

Project gwŷdd began after a search for non-tray mount wooden keyboards turned out fruitless. I knew there must be good reason why a two-piece, gasket mount wooden keyboard wasn't readily available, but nothing could prepare me for the gruelling journey that this project took me on.

To counter the "playful" nature of wood, I selected Taiwanese Acacia which had undergone Thermal Modification. The removal of moisture and carbohydrates from the wood using nothing but heat and a vacuum chamber fit the bill perfectly: a high density, stable wood material that did not use harmful chemicals or processes to produce.

After many trials and tribulations, we have arrived at the current iteration of the gwŷdd65 keyboard: a 65% gasket-mount keyboard made of pure wood. One which will experience minimal to no movement after production and during regular usage, which I sincerely hope you will cherish and enjoy.
